This is the Rafto Foundation's annual report for 2023.

The 2023 Rafto Prize awarded to Defense for Children Palestine (DCIP) became more relevant than most could have imagined.

The Rafto Foundation's annual report for 2023 is now ready.

In the 34-page report, you can read about our broad and varied work for human rights throughout the past year.

Palestinian children`s rights

The Rafto Prize for 2023 was announced in September and was awarded to the organization Defense for Children International Palestine (DCIP). The prize seriously highlighted children's rights in the Occupied Palestinian Territories (OPT).

It recognized the non-violent work that DCIP has done for over 30 years to document and combat violations of children's rights and to hold both Palestinian and Israeli authorities accountable.

The systematic discrimination against Palestinian children, where children under Israeli occupation are sentenced in military courts, subjected to abuse, and held in isolation and administrative detention, were some of the violations of the Convention on the Rights of the Child that the 2023 Rafto Prize particularly highlighted.
